When and Where Do the Club Meet?

Rayleigh Town outdoor range, which they use in the summer, is located at Runwell Hospital Sports Club and is open for members every day twenty four hours a day. During the winter the club meets on Sundays indoors at Deanes School Sports Centre term time only from 2pm to 5pm. They also meet at Westwood Primary School on Tuesdays during term time, juniors from 6.30pm and seniors from 8.30pm. October to March the club meets on Wednesdays at Pope John Paul Hall from 8pm to 10pm.

Types of Class

Advanced juniors and seniors classes take place at Deanes School on Sundays. Junior and senior sessions also take place at Westwood Primary, while seniors only practice is at Pope John Hall. The club also offers junior beginner sessions and senior beginner sessions with children working toward The National Junior Archery Scheme.

Mayflower Archers

Mayflower Archers is one of the largest archery clubs in Essex and offers both indoor and outdoor shooting with qualified coaches, who will encourage members who wish, to compete to a very high level. Children and adults alike are welcome at the club with all abilities catered for. Many families shoot together at the club with Mayflower Archers priding themselves on their welcoming friendly atmosphere.

When and Where Do the Club Meet?

The clubs outdoor venue is located at Barleylands Farm in Billericay. Club days are Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. October to March the club moves indoors to Mayflower School in Billericay with club nights held on Fridays from 7pm to 10pm.

Types of Class

Mayflower Archers offer both indoor and outdoor beginners classes throughout the year. Classes are held on Saturdays and total twelve hours altogether. The club also runs a superb junior section with sessions coached by GNAS qualified staff. The minimum age for juniors is ten rising to eighteen.

History Blooms offers archery with a difference as the husband and wife team who run the club have a passion for medieval history and will recreate the period at your venue making shooting longbow an authentic experience. The team uses many props to teach the history of the Tudor period among others, while also offering a superb archery filled occasion. Longbow archery is the only type of archery practiced at their club.

Have a Go sessions are available costing £7.50 for one hour. This enables those new to archery to spend an hour shooting in order to see if they want to take up the sport. Types of Class

Clacton Archers offer beginners courses at certain times of the year teaching the basics of archery in an enjoyable atmosphere and setting. Sessions are held at Tendring, last two hours from 11am to 1pm and run for four weeks. Two further sessions are required on Sunday morning or Wednesday evening so twelve hours of archery all together. Panther Bowhunters is a field archery club located near Galleywood in Essex. With over one hundred and twenty members this club is very popular and has been on the go since the 1960's. The club has a huge amount of space in the woods to enable them to accommodate a large number of archers at any one time, while they also have a clubhouse and welcome members old and new to go along and join in their sessions.

Saturday morning coaching takes place every week, while on the third Sunday of the month the club hosts an official EFAA Classification shoot. Beginner's classes run all year round for both adults and juniors with adults paying £60.00 per course and juniors paying £50.00. These courses are run by qualified coaches and consist of six lessons. Equipment is provided plus once the course has been completed it is possible to become a full member of the club.
